Residential Tree Service for Metro Atlanta Homeowners

Most of what we do every day is residential. We work for homeowners who want to stay in their houses, want their tree care done correctly the first time, and want to talk to the person whose name is on the truck. We have served Decatur, Atlanta, Buckhead, Stone Mountain, and the metro for 20+ years — through three family generations of work and four major hurricanes.

What you typically need

The homeowners tree-care checklist

  • Pre-storm assessment for trees over your house, garage, or driveway
  • Selective pruning to extend tree life and reduce hazard
  • Removal where the tree is past saving — with paperwork
  • Stump grinding for tripping hazards and re-landscaping
  • Emergency response after wind, ice, or rain events
  • Honest cabling-vs-removal recommendation for borderline trees
  • New-owner tree assessment if you just bought the house

When to call

Decision triggers we see most often

You see a crack at the trunk base

Trunk cracks at the soil line are not always emergencies but they are not normal. They often signal hidden decay. We will assess the cavity with sounding tools and tell you whether removal, cabling, or monitoring is the right call. Photograph it before our visit if you can.

A storm is forecast and a big tree leans over your roof

Pre-storm assessment is the cheapest emergency call you'll ever pay for. We can usually be on site within 48 hours and document a recommendation in writing for your insurance file in case the worst happens.

You just bought the house

Sellers rarely disclose tree-care backlog. The cheapest version of post-purchase tree work is the assessment that catches the $5,000 of overdue removals before the next storm forces the question. We do these assessments routinely, especially in Decatur, Atlanta city, and Druid Hills.

Your neighbor built recently

Adjacent construction routinely damages 20-30% of an established tree's root system invisibly. The damage shows up 2-5 years later. If a neighbor recently graded for a new build or addition, we recommend assessing the trees on your side.

Paperwork we provide

Documentation

  • Written estimate with itemized scope (not just lump sum)
  • Insurance certificate (COI) — General Liability + Workers Comp
  • Permit filings on your behalf where required
  • Replacement-plant or in-lieu fee documentation
  • Photos before / during / after for your insurance file

How we price

Pricing logic

Per-job, not per-hour. Our quote includes hauling, cleanup, and stump grinding (when requested) so you do not get an add-on bill at the end. We discount when adjacent jobs share mobilization (whole-block or HOA work).

Project recap

Decatur 30030 — pre-storm assessment converted to emergency removal during Helene

We assessed an Oakhurst water-oak in August 2024, recommended removal, and the homeowner deferred. When Hurricane Helene came through in late September, the tree fell across the driveway exactly as we had predicted. Because we already had the access route mapped, we cleared the driveway in 4 hours instead of the 1-2 days an unfamiliar crew would have needed.

FAQs for homeowners

Do I need to be home for the work?

Not for most jobs once the estimate is signed. We document with photos before, during, and after.

Will you damage my lawn?

We use plywood ground protection on saturated soil and minimize equipment travel paths. Some lawn impact is normal on big jobs but we restore where we can.

Do you remove the wood?

Yes. Hauling is included unless you ask us to leave wood for firewood, in which case we discount the job.

Is the stump included?

Removal does not include grinding by default. Add-on grinding is usually $150-$400 depending on stump size. We quote it explicitly.

Are you insured?

Yes. General Liability + Workers Comp. We send the COI directly to you or your HOA on request.
